10/13/2006 Happy Friday the 13th!!!"My name is Luck, this is my song/I happened by while you were gone/Oh well, I apologize that I could not stay/But I hope good things come your way/I know they will, here's your horseshoe/So best of luck to you." My legs hurt. Ouch. I like music. Anways, school is fun but exhausting. I've been forced to think about things a lot more thoroughly this year, re-evaluating my friendships and places where I need friendships. It's been hard, but very helpful. The chapels have so far been spectacular, really providing excellent worship and innovative, relevant teaching. I think God has taught me many, many new things in and through chapel. Cross-country has been deadly but exhilarating. I set a major personal record at our Marymoor Park meet, beating my previous time by almost two minutes. The results haven't been posted on the website, though. Yearbook is a crazy-cool class, providing me with a nice dose of frenzied rushing and stress right before lunch. I can't really complain, however, seeing as how I've only gotten minor jobs so far. Yay for layouts. We jumped beyond exercises in Drama, into the exciting world of Theater Scene Work Week, in which we perform a scene from a play, rehearsing for a week beforehand. After this, it's only a week of exercises, and then we plunge directly into One-Acts. World History has provided me with a constant stream of information, most of it interesting. Lately, I've been reading Don't Know Much About The Universe: Everything You Need To Know About Outer Space But Never Learned, which is pretty elementary, but it's interesting because it tells the human perspective of the universe, so it goes into the history of astronomy for the whole first chapter. I've also been reading State of Fear, another book by Michael Crichton. So yeah, life's been hectic. Speedily fast-paced, if that makes any sense. My glasses got broken today, and not by me. I was walking up the stairs at school, when the person in front of me suddenly backed up and jammed their backpack into my face. Yowch. In other news, I'm done typing. Go read some political commentary or something. It's not like there's an absence of it. ∞ Jesse Comments (1)
